The Guided Practice book provides your students with high-quality mentor text passages that they can learn from and use as models.

Students use the information in the mentor texts to highlight specific writing techniques they notice and to fill in graphic organizers to show how the passage has been structured in an organized fashion.

Once students explore each structure, they learn how to write a formal 5-paragraph essay for each structure, working their way through the writing process with step-by-step guidance.
